  1. SOS Help! for Windows v2.01 (Demo version)

  4. This archive contains a fully functional and complete demo version of
  5. the Windows help authoring tool SOS Help! for Windows. The only
  6. restriction on this version is that it is limited to a maximum of 10
  7. topics per project. The Microsoft Windows help compiler is required to
  8. create projects. This can be found in SOFTLIB/MSLFILES/HC505.EXE at
  9. ftp.microsoft.com, and on CompuServe.

  11. SOS Help! for Windows features:

  13. o  WYSIWYG Help design system for Windows creates all files required by
  14. the help compiler. RTF editors, such as Word for Windows, are redundant.
  15. o  Add jumps, popups and Windows Help macros quickly and easily using
  16. the Topic editor.
  17. o  Full support for styles and sylesheets: design a house style for use
  18. in any Help project.
  19. o  Application Programming Interface - create context sensitive help
  20. from within an application with one function call.

  22. Installation

  25. SOSWIN.ZIP contains directories, so it should be unzipped using PKZIP's
  26. -d switch, eg to install it in a directory SOSINST:

  28. PKUNZIP -d SOSWIN SOSINST

  30. To complete the installation, load Windows and select the Run option
  31. from the File menu in the Program Manager. Enter <drive>:setup and press
  32. the <Enter> key.
